Privacy notice
How Scripta Care handles information on this website and in the Scripta Check screening tool.
Last updated 8 Oct 2026
Who we are
This website and Scripta Check are run by Scripta Care, run by Deaglan Carr, an individual based in the UK. For questions about this notice, email enquiries@scriptacare.co.uk.
The short version
The records you check in Scripta Check stay on your device. Nothing you paste or open in the tool is uploaded, saved or shared. This website has no accounts, cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking.
Scripta Check: the records you check
- The screening runs entirely in your browser tab. The text you paste and the files you open are not sent to us, to our hosting provider or to any other service.
- The record is held in the tab's memory only. It is not saved to your device's storage, and it is gone when you close or refresh the tab. The Clear button removes it straight away.
- The tool only loads its own files, such as its fonts and the libraries that read Word and PDF files.
- Reports you download or copy are saved where you choose. They include the child's first name and details from the record, so store and share them under your home's data protection and records policies.
Spell checkers and browser extensions
Some browsers offer an enhanced spell check that sends what you type to Google or Microsoft. Scripta Check turns spell checking off in its text fields so that can't happen there.
Browser extensions, such as writing assistants and translators, can read any page you open. Turn them off for this site, or use a browser profile without them, before you paste a record.
If you contact us
If you email us or use the contact form, we use your name, email address and message only to reply to you. Messages sent through the contact form pass through Web3Forms, a form service that emails them to our inbox. You can read Web3Forms' privacy policy. We keep that correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your question and then delete it. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries. Never send us children's records or other identifying case information.
Information our hosting provider handles
This website is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles the technical information needed to deliver the pages and keep them secure, such as your IP address, your browser type and the time of your visit. It does this on our behalf, and this information never includes the records you check.
Cloudflare may process this information outside the UK, using legal safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. You can read Cloudflare's privacy policy. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no cookies and saves nothing in your browser's storage. It has no analytics, advertising or third-party scripts.
Your organisation's responsibilities
Your organisation remains the data controller for the records you check and for any reports you save. Follow its policies on where records may be opened, and don't paste records into other online tools.
Your rights and complaints
Apart from hosting information and any emails you send us, we hold no personal information about you or the children named in the records you check. You have the right to ask for a copy of any information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct or delete it. Use the contact details at the top of this notice.
If you're unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office through ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
